Babel (2006)

Magnificent. I’ve always been a fan of Alejandro González Iñárritu’s films, and although this may be one of his weaker films (his story techniques are starting to show their flaws), it’s still a masterpiece. It may take itself too seriously at times, but it just works in the end. Do be warned - it’s a downer of a film; You’re left sad, and although there’s a message, you have to dwell deeper than you normally would with his other films (which you think wouldn’t be the case, especially when it’s called Babel). Regardless, the story is fascinating, the acting is top notch, the score is astounding, editing is great, and it just feels so real… so authentic (I can attest to the Mexican portion, at least). Check it out, folks.
